How to reach us
Drawings are best sent through the enquiry form on this page, because they reach the engineer directly. Email and telephone are below for anything else.

Send your drawings, the building’s use and its occupancy through the enquiry form. Large drawing sets are better shared as a link than as attachments. A written fixed fee follows once the information has been read, and buildings across England and Wales are considered. You are told early if the job is not for us.
Reaching us
Written enquiries go through the enquiry form on this page. Attachments are welcome, and large drawing sets are better sent as a link to a shared folder than as a bundle of PDFs that bounces on size.
Site attendance: whether a visit is needed is confirmed with the quotation, because some retrospective work genuinely cannot be done without one.
What to include in your enquiry
The more of this you can put in the first message, the sooner a real fee comes back rather than a request for more information.
Address of the building, and whether it is existing, under construction or at design stage. Architectural drawings, ideally floor plans and sections in PDF or DWG. The building’s use and, where it is residential, the number of storeys and the height to the top occupied floor. Approximate occupancy, and any sleeping risk. Whether anybody has already written a strategy, risk assessment or fire statement for it, including one that has been rejected. The reason you need the document now, whether that is a planning condition, a building control comment, a gateway submission, a mortgage or insurance requirement, or an enforcement notice. Any deadline you are working to, and who set it.
If a previous submission was refused, send the refusal itself. What the authority objected to shapes the whole approach.
What happens after you send it
Your enquiry is read by the engineer. If anything essential is missing, you get one short set of questions rather than a drip feed of them.
You then receive a written fixed fee covering a defined scope, a note of what is excluded, and an indication of when the work could start. Nothing is charged for that stage. Where the honest answer is that you need a different document, or a different discipline entirely, that gets said, and you are pointed somewhere sensible without a fee attached.
Once instructed, the timescale for issue is confirmed in writing alongside the fee. That window starts when usable drawings and information are in hand.
Where we work
Fire strategy work is delivered across England and Wales. Building regulations and the higher-risk regime are set separately in each nation, and the gap is real rather than presentational. England works to Approved Document B, 2019 edition incorporating the 2020, 2022 and 2025 amendments; Wales publishes its own Approved Document B, still based on the 2006 edition and last amended with effect from 20 December 2025. A building counts as higher-risk in England at 18 metres or 7 storeys with at least 2 residential units, while the Welsh criteria are met by one residential unit, or by a hospital with an overnight bed, a care home or a children’s home. Which nation’s rules apply is confirmed for your building before any fee is agreed. Travel for site attendance is priced into the quotation rather than added later.
Frequently asked questions
Will I speak to the engineer or a salesperson?
The engineer. Enquiries are not passed to an account handler at any point.
When should I expect to hear back?
Enquiries arriving in working hours are normally acknowledged the same day, with the fee following once the drawings have been read properly.
Is there a charge for the initial conversation?
No. Scoping the job and quoting for it costs you nothing.
I only have a rough sketch, is that enough?
Enough to talk. It is not enough to fix a fee, so expect a range at that point and a firm figure once measured drawings exist.
My project has been refused by building control, can you still help?
Often, yes. Send the refusal and the drawings that were submitted so the objection can be read in full.
Do you sign off or certify buildings?
No. A fire strategy is a design document. Approval sits with building control or, for a higher-risk building in England, with the Building Safety Regulator through its gateway process. The Regulator became a standalone body sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government on 27 January 2026, having previously sat within the Health and Safety Executive.
